I won't be able to do some review for few weeks since middle of October because of my camera; damaged! But thank God, i snapped MP-2 image long time ago and i can continue doing some review for now. (Before i buy new camera).
This is the 2nd batch of the reissue Mp-2, Masterpiece Ultra Magnus.
The 1st batch reissue was produced late last year around oct-nov period. The sad things is, the 1st reissue came with lot of flaws. The big flaw of all is, upside down headlamps plus uneven paintjob on the leg and wire treads on certain parts of MP-2. To make it worst, the 'tank' button on the side of the leg is too hard to push when you're trying to slot in the leg while transform it into truck mode. You might break it if you push too hard.
The long awaited reissue of MP-2 turned into the greatest nightmare of all time in Transformers collection. Lucky me, i sold it off in few weeks after i got my hand on the original MP-2 from Takara for the price of RM550! When i heard of the 2nd batch of the reissue MP-2 and rumours that TakaraTomy did correct the headlamps, i jumped until i touched my apartment ceiling. I said to myself that i need to buy another MP-2 eventhough i already have the original MP-2 from Takara. And here it is, the 2nd batch of reissue MP-2. Let's chek it out guys!
Still in the same legendary black box of Masterpiece but with new logo, TakaraTomy.

Left: Original MP-2
Notice the plastic part on top of the truck? Almost grey already.
If you look closely, you can see the different between the original MP-2 and reissue MP-2 (2nd batch) . They used the different material especially the plastic parts. May be because of the economic factor, they used cheaper material for the new MP-2 and it looks kinda cheap.
The reissue MP-2's plastic looks yellowish eventhough they are still new and just few month out of the factory. The chromes is still the same but still, we can't really tell how long it will last. So far, my original MP-2's chromes are still intact, no defect and the shinning are still there but the plastic parts already turned yellowish.
Overall, i really like the 2nd batch reissue of MP-2 because of one thing; correct headlamps, beautiful paintjob and NO wire treads everywhere like the 1st batch. I think what happened to the 1st batch is, they rushing it to fulfill the order and angry collectors who are banging their door night and day.
9 out of 10 is the number i would like to give the 2nd batch of reissue MP-2 so far. This new batch deserve it because of the almost perfect condition and quality control. That's why i didnt regret it at all when i pre-ordered the 2nd batch after i heard TakaraTomy will produce the correct headlamps.
Now i really bought first, no regret at all.
How do you know the difference between the mp 2 ultra magnus box first reissue batch and second reissue box? I can't tell. Is there a code or date? Please respond
