Transformers Universe Onslaught

I've been trying for a year to get this fella with a decent price and finally in february 2011, managed to purchased it.

Why Hasbro version Onslaught? Well, you can say i'm a MISB collector. Mint In Seal Box to be exact if you wondering. To open and molest a valuable toys like the TakaraTomy version, is something beyond my passion. Why? It's all about the price. Cheaper version would a perfect toys to open and 'molest' em full throttle.

And for that, i think this guy should get the review from me eventhough it's kind of late for a special treatment. Who give a damn right? A review is a review, just a brief one to introduce this guy for a special treatment.

Universe Onslaught is one of the Ultra Class introduced by Hasbro for the Universe line after they completing the Classics line. He came together with Powerglide & Silverbolt plus a few exclusive Walmart line like Darkwing, Storm Cloud, Countdown, Hardhead & Skyfalls in 2008.

After a few month, TakaraTomy introduced the same 3 molds of Onslaught, Powerglide & Silverbolt with a slight different of colors especially Powerglide like the G1 color. Onslaught also got the treatment to a better color and finishing. Let's check this fella out.

Close up on the head.

Few actions that i can think of.

As far as i know, Ultra Class isn't that hard to transforms. It's so easy. May be you want to take a brief look at the manual and after that, voila! No need to refer to the manual anymore since Ultra class is among the easiest class to transforms.

The articulation is good and awesome as usual. No loose parts what so ever. Congrats to Hasbro on that one but still, the paintjob quality is something Hasbro has to learn more. As i mentioned earlier, the transformation is simple. No need to stress out your brain.

Overall, i would like to give this fella 7 out of 10 rating. Why 7? It's too simple to transform, no challenge in it and the paintjob's quality from Hasbro need no introduction. It's far less from his TakaraTomy brother as far as i can see it. But still, it's worth to buy Ultra Class Universe as it's only came in 3 molds. Onslaught, Powerglide, Silverbolt plus the trademark of Hasbro and TakaraTomy, the repaints of the same molds over and over again.

Nevertheless, Onslaught still a good mold to play with and not bad at all to display him side by side with Powerglide and Silverbolt in the display cabinet.
